AUGUSTA, Ga. - Deputies are searching for two men who robbed the Georgia Bank of Trust in Augusta Thursday morning.

The men are accused of holding up the Georgia Bank and Trust on 1530 Walton Way around 9 a.m.

Deputies used tracking dogs to search an area near Emmett and Parnell streets.

Investigators say the robbers might have abandoned a stolen car after a dye pack on the money exploded in the car. It's a dark green 1990 Chevrolet Caprice with Georgia license plate AKC 8294

Officers tell NBC Augusta 26 News the robbers dropped money as they ran from the car.

No one was hurt.

I seem to remember seeing banks use armed security guards many years ago. Do any banks still do this? I've seen cops guarding grocery stores in South Augusta before, so why not banks?
