State seeks death penalty in Grovetown murder
GROVETOWN, Ga.- Prosecutors say a mother and son accused of killing a Grovetown woman should be put to death. NBC Augusta 26 News has learned the State filed a motion seeking the death penalty against Rebecca Sears and Christopher Bowers on Friday. Both are charged in the murder of Laverne "Kay'' Parsons. They are accused of beating Parsons with a claw hammer and bat inside her home last month. Sears and Parson lived next door to each other.
