Burke County inmate escapes from work detail

WAYNESBORO, Ga. - The Burke County Sheriff's Office needs your assistance with locating an inmate that walked away from a work detail Tuesday morning.

Jerry Lee Jones is 5'9" tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and pants with the Burke County Sheriff's Office on the back of the shirt.

Investigators say Jones was arrested last July on several charges, including auto theft.
