Call for volunteers in search for missing elderly Augusta woman

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Richmond County Sheriff's Office, The Alzheimer's Association and the family of Elizabeth “Liz” Bert are asking for additional volunteers to help with a foot search to find Bert.

Bert, 85, suffers from Alzheimer’s and Diabetes has been missing from her personal care home since Thursday morning.

If you would like to help with the search you need to go to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office mobile command center located in the Buckhead subdivision off of Bel Air Road.

The Command Center is at the end of Lexington Way.

Volunteers should bring water, hats, sunscreen and sturdy shoes.

Crews will be searching until dark.

You can call Richmond County dispatch at (706) 821-1080 and asked to be transferred to the mobile command center.
