Man loses part of house but all of his pot

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Part of a Savannah man's home has been
consumed by a fire that got all of his pot.

The call to extinguish the blaze at 44-year-old Brett Napier's
home turned into a drug bust just before 2 a.m. on Saturday when
firefighters and police discovered nine marijuana plants and a
22-caliber Ruger semi-automatic pistol.

Authorities said there were no injuries, and fire damage was
limited to the back half of the house.

All nine marijuana plants were found in a rear room. Besides the
live plants, police also found a bag of leafy marijuana, a bag of
marijuana stems, a glass vile of marijuana buds, a green glass bong
and two heating lamps in the house.

Legalize homegrown for personal use, they could still go after the bigtime dealers. They`re the ones that want it illegal anyway. Legal pot would ruin their business. That`s probably why it hasn`t been legalized and they must havea pretty good lobby."Justice juvee", that`s a stupid thing to say. Pot is not crack. Crack is cocaine mixed with water and baking soda and can be very addictive; much greater threat...

if they would just legalize pot we wouldn't have all these unecessary problems with it. Techanically pot is not a drug it's an herb grown in the ground. get over the bs and just legalize the pot already.

I agree with Hoss but if pot were decriminalized like booze the pot trade and its victimless crimes would drop due to lack of big black market profits and Big Brother would have to go after real criminals and some cops would be out of work.

Nine plants = more trouble than it's worth for a drug dealer. This guy was growing for personal use. Now he'll probably get prison time for having drugs and a gun together... Nevermind the fact that you can be as big an alcoholic as you can be, and still own as many firearms as you want. *Sigh* Just legalize this stuff already. Pot prohibition is dumb, unnecessary, costly and harmful to otherwise good people. It will still be illegal to rob people and drive high and everything like that.
