COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. - Property tax bills for people who live in Columbia County are finally being mailed out Friday.
The notices are three months late following a new state law that changed property assessments.
Columbia County property owners will likely be paying more taxes even though property values have gone down.
The reason: The Georgia Homestead Tax Relief Grant is not available this year.
The deadline to pay property taxes is January 15th.
