HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Upset parents will have until Monday to find a new pre-school for their kids.

Faith Kindercare Pre-K in Hephzibah is shutting down.

Parents and the school's staff say they were just notified Wednesday that the school will be closed permanently after Friday.

"A 48-hour notice isn't enough time for me or any of the other parents to try and come up with a suitable alternative to this school," said angry parent Regina Jeffries.

"I just think that it's very bad business and it's a very hard position to put us parents in, especially us parents that care about our kids’ education," Quetisha Henderson, another angry parent said.

The school says they don't have enough children enrolled to stay open.

How about this, the parents that involved the news, they came back on Friday to the Pre-K's BBQ and had fun like nothing ever happened. Those are people that are seeking attention for whatever reason. If they are so worried about the kids education, why would they not use the time on Friday to get the kids into another Pre-K Program since they said it was short notice, instead relaxing at the BBQ at the Faith Outreach Center, which they say did them wrong?!

The Pre-K at Faith KinderCare has always been about the childrens education. When the word came down that they have to close, the parents were informed as soon as the Center found out themselves. Also, a list was available to the parents with vacant slots from other Pre-K Centers in their area.

Oh and Parents and Staff remember when you were told a month ago to advertise the daycare because if not they would have to close. So don't act like you didn't know what was going on you just chose to ignore the situation as if it would go away.

So now is not the time to be angry. You should have advertised the center more. And for the ex employee that made her statement bitterness is not attractive. Don't wish anything bad then you are reliable for what happens to yourself.

Give them what they deserve? First off as a parent there. I felt like they did as much as they could to keep it open. Where were you staff and parents at when asked to push the Pre-K

After reading some of these posts, I believe some of the parents need to check into some additional education for themselves.

Parents are not upset because of the daycare, we are upset because of the PreK program. 48hrs is not enough time to find an alternative for our kids it is the middle of the year, all the good slots are already taken. They could have at lest let them finish the school year.

No one was asking them to raise my child. Just a place for him to learn. We should have been informed more then 48 hours before the school close. My son is four years old and the only thing he no is he lost his friends. I don't feel "entitled" to anything, except giving my son an education.

I agree that those parents would have raised cain if the daycare informed them that their rates would be increasing to keep the doors open. And that business has to do what it has to do. At least they did give a 48 hour notice, i have seen some places that when you went to drop your children off on Monday that the doors were locked. And yes, it is the parents responsibility to raise their own children and not depend on daycares to do this for them

Another example of the "entitlement" mentality that is so prevelant in today's society. A business is in business to earn a profit. No profit, no business. Would the parents complain as loudly if the Pre K had told them that they had to raise the cost of keeping children, and by the way, I was always taught that raising your children was a parents resposibility, not a pre K or day care.
