Macon house fire kills 2 children; 1 child in critical condition in AugustaMACON, Ga. (WMGT) - An early morning house fire in Macon leaves two children dead and one in critical condition. Bibb County fire officials say the fire happened at 1075 Carlyle Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. Monday. According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, 4-year-old Mekala Barron and 12-year-old Zanesia Hollis were pronounced dead at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. A third victim, 7-year-old Ricardo Barron, is in critical condition at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta. The parents were inside the home at the time of the fire, but were able to escape injury. Fire officials continue to investigate. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
