Hardie Davis resigning as state representative to run for state senate

AUGUSTA, Ga. - NBC Augusta 26 News has learned State Rep. Hardie Davis will resign as District 122 State Representative Friday. Davis was elected to the position in the fall of 2006.

Earlier this month Davis announced he would run for former Senator Ed Tarver's District 22 seat.

Tarver resigned from the state senate to become the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.
