AUGUSTA, Ga. - The entertainer known as the “Godfather of Soul’s Cape Man” is in jail on drug charges.

NBC Augusta 26 News has learned Danny Ray was arrested Friday night for cocaine possession.

Ray spent 50 years touring with James Brown. He has also had some financial problems since the singer’s death in 2006.
