Homeowner shot during break-in at home in Evans

EVANS, Ga. - A homeowner is recovering after he was shot by a burglar in Evans.

NBC Augusta 26 News has learned a man broke into a house on Blue Ridge Crossing around 2 a.m. Monday.

The homeowner says he was shot in the leg during a fight with the burglar.

Investigators tell us the thief got away with cash and a cell phone he took from another person who lives at the home.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff's Office at (706) 541-2800.

i agree to that. it is unnecessary to use racial discrimination on a delicate issue such as this. i am a black man and i have many white friends and i cant argue the fact when they tell me they feel we as a black community have become just as racist as the white people of the 70's. i dont think this is what Martin Luther King Jr. wanted us to be.

i find it funny that people can still be racist by saying "why they always got to acuse the black comunity the po po's need to start focusin on white people" the picture of him is not white it is black. true any race could have been capable of doing the crime and the out come could have been worse but i am worried that people like the one who made that comment would not report him if they saw him cause they think they are making a stand against racial oppression.
