Distractions like cell phones, food and other people are a leading cause of auto accidents nationwide.

A recent study by Virginia Tech University and the National Highway Safety Administration recorded the results of more than 100 distracted drivers.

Some of the pictures show drivers falling asleep others getting into accidents due to talking on the cell phone. In all, more than 7,000 crashes and near crashes were recorded.

Experts say it has to stop.

"Don't be distracted by cell phones, fast food, don't pay attention to the back seat," said driving instructor Donnell Jones.

There is no law in South Carolina or Georgia against driving while on your cell phone.
