Daniel Booker hit the links Saturday to help his fiancé fight a deadly disease.

She's worth it let's put it that way,” Booker said.

Lyndsie Beggs was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 19. Now, armed with golf clubs, her family and more than 100 others are helping her fight back.

"I decided to organize this event to raise money for all her medical expenses," Beggs’ friend of 15 years, Keller Perry, said.

Perry said for the past three years Beggs has been struggling to pay medical bills.

“I don’t have any insurance. The first time, I was 19 and I had just been dropped from my parents insurance,” Beggs said.

Keller hoped to raise about $5,000 with the charity golf tournament. But generous donations from family, friends, and community members almost doubled that amount.

"She'll be able to take about $10,000 when it's over. We surpassed my goal which is awesome,” Perry said.

Money to help the fight.

“I definitely have my bad days. I can either have a negative attitude or I can try to keep my spirits up,” Beggs said.

“She's going to whip it,” Beggs’ mother said.

Right now Lyndsie is going through eight rounds of chemotherapy. But she hopes to one day be able to speak to other young woman about ovarian cancer. A disease she said is often forgotten.
