Voice of Georgia football campaigns for trauma system

ATLANTA (AP) - Retired University of Georgia football radio
announcer Larry Munson is lending his recognizable voice to a
campaign for a statewide trauma system.

The 86-year-old Munson retired in September after 43 seasons of
UGA play-by-play.

In a 30-second public service announcement, he says surviving
trauma depends on getting to a trauma center in the critical
``golden hour'' after an injury. He urges listeners to go to the
Web site for the ``It's About Time'' campaign to learn what they
can do.

Campaign organizers plan to make the spot available throughout
the state and use it in a paid advertising campaign in south
Georgia, where holes in the trauma system are biggest.
