AUGUSTA, Ga. - The president and CEO of MCGHealth is stepping down.
Don Snell announced his resignation from the hospital on Wednesday. He says his last day will be at the end of the month.
Snell has been with MCGHealth for 11 years.
Under his leadership, the hospital received a number of national patient safety and quality awards.
In a related note, The Medical College of Georgia is getting more money to help with teaching and research.
MCGHealth announced a more than $7 million donation to the college at its annual board meeting Wednesday.
Since 2001, more than $85 million has been given to the college.
