Former Maryland Governor Parris N. Glendening is in Augusta talking about plans for a baseball stadium in Downtown Augusta.

Glendening is known for his Smart Growth America Concept. It's a concept that ties development in with the landscape.

The Governor is joining Mayor Deke Copenhaver, Cal Ripkin Jr., and Jim Jacoby, the developer of Atlantic Station in Atlanta.

They're touring Augusta and talked about plans for putting a Baseball stadium on Georgia Golf Hall of Fame property along the Savannah River.

Both men say building a baseball stadium downtown is a good idea. And they're not shying away from investing in the project.

The proposal has been talked about for months, but is in its infancy.
