Lakeside High School Fined For Illegal Football Play

An illegal play by Lakeside High against Effingham County will cost the Columbia County school.

On Friday, the Georgia High School Association fined the school $250. Lakeside head coach Jody Grooms will also be put on severe warning status.

Video of the play has been making it's way over the Internet. It shows a player running off the field and another one runs on during a play.

Lakeside lost the game against Effingham County 7-0.

Columbia County's school board is currently doing their own investigation into the play.
