Coach Jody Grooms has been permanently removed as athletic director at Lakeside High School.

He's required to pay the county $250 for a fine issued by the state.

Cheer coaches cheat too an dget honored for it. Theres a cheer coach that cheated and GHSA just allowed Chattahoochee and ALpharetta to cover it up. No one was suspended from competing. They take the honor right out the sport, and the kids are the ones that suffer. Why teach kids to cheat and get away with it GHSA. check out hte proof. www.scribd.com/doc/3551582/1st-part - 65k www.scribd.com/doc/3551085/3rd-part - 85k

The punishment has been passed down. Let's move on with it and let the man redeem himself. Whether it's cheating or swearing, they are both sins and God forgives both.MOVE ON!!!!

This is unbelievable. What this coach did was blatent and no "mistake". Come on people, it was practiced! A mistake is accidentally spilling your coffee on someone. This was planned & he knew it was wrong. If he was really "sorry" he'd quit.

It is most troubling that many of the team members do not own up to CHEATING,nor does the coach. 'Mistake' is an euphemism, not a synonym. The parents and players who defend the coach simply multiply their own shame and dishonor,as does the school

If a teacher helped a student cheat on a test, there would not even be a question, he would be fired automatically. How is this any different?

JODY..That is the correct spelling of his name. He is a great role model for our kids. He made a mistake. How many of you have never made a mistake?

Everyone makes mistakes. I have known Jody my entire life. He is a great man. I would love for my son to be under his direction. He is a wonderful man who made a mistake. Don't crucify him for making a bad choice.

The Columbia County coaches who cheated violated ethical standards set by the Professional Practices Commission of Georgia which monitors teaching practices in Georgia. It is not solely the responsibility of the superintendent.

Jodi Grooms should not be fired for this. Reprimanded yes, but not fired. We all make mistakes and deserve 2nd chances. They should of fined them more for that though. $250 is not enough to really teach a lesson.
