NBC Augusta has learned more information about plans to auction off hundreds of James Brown's personal belongings.

Estate representatives hired Christie's auction house to sell Brown's assets by August 1.

The items range from cars to clothes, jewelry, awards and furniture.

Other notable items include a lock of Brown's hair and a poem written to Brown by Muhammad Ali.

A judge ordered some of Brown's possessions and homes to be sold to pay legal bills and overdue taxes.

Brown's children and widow Tomi Rae have objected to some of the items up for sale.

James Brown is my childhood hero and I hate to see his things being sold and put into some Hall of Fame or for his family to keep as much as Mr.Brown done for the world and music this is sad and I am hurt to see this happen to things he work so hard for.
