Army officials say they're inspecting every U.S. barracks buildings worldwide to find out if poor conditions found at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, are a widespread problem.
NBC Augusta checked with Fort Gordon about its Barracks. A spokesperson says several are in poor condition but many are undergoing renovations.
The issue came to light after a soldier's father posted a YouTube video showing mold inside barracks, peeling paint and a bathroom drain plugged with sewage at Fort Bragg. Ed Frawley, soldier's father, said he was outraged.
"This is not a 'if you're for the war or against the war.' This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. It's not what color your skin is or your religion is. This is about Americans supporting soldiers who come out of dangerous combat zones," Frawley said.
New barracks are being built on the base but they are still a few years away from being completed.
