Guns Stolen From Augusta Apartment

By Tina Terry tterry@nbcaugusta.com

Richmond County investigators are searching for a thief they say stole more than $4,000 worth of firearms from a local apartment.

A tenant at Georgia Place apartments on Wrightsboro Road says someone broke in early Tuesday morning and stole a total of seven guns, including a Glock 17, a Colt 45 and a Smith and Wesson 44 magnum. The owner says more than 2,000 rounds were also stolen.

He didn't have serial numbers for any of the guns.

Investigators say they're looking into other robberies in that area.
