Georgia Lottery Winner Found Stabbed To Death
DUBLIN, Ga. (AP) - A woman who won $5 million in the Georgia lottery a year ago was found stabbed to death in her home. Police have charged her former boyfriend with murder. Laurens County Sheriff Bill Harrell said 42-year-old Doris Her alleged attacker, 51-year-old Derrick Lorenzo Stanley of East Dublin is being held in the county jail without bond. Harrell said Stanley led police on a car chase through the cities of East Dublin and Dublin following a 911 call to Murray's residence Monday. He said members of Murray's family called 911 saying they had seen Stanley leaving the victim's home with blood on his face. A sheriff's investigator said he believed Murray and Stanley may Murray had chosen to take her lottery winnings in $172,000 payments every year for 20 years.
