Georgia Revives Sex Offender Restrictions

By Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia has revived vast restrictions that limit
where sex offenders can live and work.

Governor Sonny Perdue signed a measure on Tuesday that retools an earlier version of the law struck down by the Georgia Supreme Court.

Perdue's move is likely to attract a swift answer from civil rights groups, who have vowed to challenge the new law on grounds that it renders vast portions of the state off-limits to sex offenders.

The bill was among numerous measures the governor signed on
Tuesday without comment.

The measure aims to fix a 2006 law that bans sex offenders from living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of just about anywhere children gather.

Not every one that was convicted is a sex offender and this law is ridiculous we can ony prevent children from having any contact with adults if we can raise them correctly. The true sexual predators do need to follow these strict restrictions but not everyone is cruel and needs to be shot. It could happen to one of your children or family member and if it does you will think differently about this situation.

HOW ABOUT ONCE YOU'RE CONVICTED OF A SEX CRIME WE PUT A BULLET IN YOUR HEAD. THEN WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE. IT JUST SICKENS ME THAT PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF THESE DISGUSTING BEINGS INSTEAD OF PROTECTING THE INNOCENT KIDS AND WOMEN THE PERVERTS ARE HURTING. THESE CIVIL RIGHTS PEOPLE NEED TO BE SHOT TO. BUT LET IT HAPPEN TO THEM PERSONALLY AND I BET THEY WILL THINK DIFFERENTLY.

Perhaps these people should have thought about the consequences of their actions before hurting others. Innocent citizens should be protected at all times!
