New Gun Law Won't Apply To All Parks

By Associated Press

Atlanta (AP)- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the new law allowing guns in parks doesn't apply to state parks or historical sites they oversee.

That includes Clarks Hill Lake in our area.

That means guns won't be allowed in state parks unless you're hunting.

The new gun law signed by Governor Sonny Perdue Wednesday goes into effect July first.

It will allow Georgians with a gun permit to take concealed weapons into local parks, restaurants and on public transportation.
