12th Deadly Car Crash In Aiken County This Year

By NBC Augusta Staff

A woman from Warrenville, South Carolina is the 12th person to be killed in a car crash in Aiken County this year.

Investigators say Dana Morris lost control of her car causing it to crash, then flip on Highway 1 in North Augusta around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The coroner's office says Morris may have been talking on her cell phone at the time of the crash.

Several bottles of prescription medications were found in the vehicle, but none of them were in her name.

Officers say Morris was not wearing a seat belt and speed was a factor.
