Record Number Of Richmond County Students To Take Summer SchoolBy NBCAugusta ProducersRichmond County says low CRCT test scores will send a record number of students to summer school this year! More than 1,300 8th graders failed the math or reading portion of the CRCT and will have to go to summer school to prepare to re-take the test. In 5th grade, more than 1,000 kids will have to take summer school. School officials tell NBC Augusta that's twice as many as that had to go last year. NBC Augusta has learned Columbia County also had high numbers of students who failed the CRCT. In Georgia, 5th and 8th graders must pass the math portion of the standardized test in order to move on to the next grade. I would just like to know what can these teachers (probably the same teachers the've had all year)possibly teach these kids in 3wks what they haven't taught them or helped them understand all year Inappropriate?
