50 workers in Augusta area affected by Goody's Family Clothing closings

By NBCAugusta Reporters

About 50 Goody's Family Clothing employees in the Augusta area will be out of a job when the chain closes stores in south Augusta and Aiken.

Goody's announced Monday it is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will close protection and will close 103 stores and an Arkansas distribution center.

A Goody's Corporate Office spokesperson tells NBC Augusta
they do not relocate their employees.

However, they do encourage their employees to apply at other Goody's locations that are still open.

A closing date has not been set.
