Green Thumb Expert stops by NBC Augusta Morning News at 11am to talk about the best way to keep up your garden .

The first step into making sure you have a perfect garden is to have your soil tested. By testing your soil it will help you make sure it has the right nutritions and enough PH.

Know the difference between your "good bugs" and "bad bugs". The "good bugs" are typically lady bugs and spiders. "Bad bugs" are squash bugs and Aphid, they tend to eat the leaves and the stalks.

Also be a good observer of your garden. Take time to do research and watch your garden carefully.

There is a gardening festival taking place July 19th that will give you more tips on how to maintain your garden. The festival will be at Redcliffe Plantation at 181 Redcliffe Road in Beech Island. For more information call 803-827-1473.
