Edgefield County man charged with father's murder

An Edgefield County man has been charged with murder in the death of his father. Investigators say Phillip Merriweather shot and killed his father, Raymond, on June 22.

Phillip Merriweather was arrested the day of the shooting for unrelated assault charges.

He's been in the jail ever since.
