Police: Teen killed elderly SC man

RIDGELAND, S.C. (AP) - A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder and armed robbery after an 86-year-old man was found dead in
his Ridgeland home last week.

Jasper County Sheriff Gregory Jenkins told The Island Packet of Hilton Head the suspect likely knew Proctor Bright and entered his house through an open window.

Authorities say Bright was stabbed, hit twice with a blunt object and shot in the head. His daughter found him dead Saturday.

Jenkins says the boy was arrested Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C.
Investigators haven't spoken to his parents and don't know what he
was doing there.

Deputies say they will ask prosecutors to try the boy as an adult.

Investigators say they have not determined if there are other suspects.
