The Obama campaign opened 15 new offices across the state of Georgia including one right here in Augusta.

Although supporters still have Obama on the brain they're starting to get used to saying a new name, Joe Biden.

“I think he was an excellent choice,” said Obama supporter, John Schlatter.

During the 2008 primaries Biden criticized Obama for his lack of experience but Schlatter says that is just politics.

“There's hardly ever a campaign where two candidates opposing each other aren't critical of each other,” he said.

Schlatter believes that now as running mate Biden's years in politics can help make up for some of that experience he claimed Obama didn't have.

“He has a strong history of civil rights education the environment strong foreign policy,” Schlatter said.

And others agree.

“He's been in the senate since he was 29 so I think he knows what's going on in the world today,” Obama supporter Octavian Anthony said.

Frances Bagley said she supports McCain and Obama, but she believes Biden was the right choice.

“He needs an older person with him and that could help him he's a very young man,” she said.

One McCain supporter says Bidden could help give Obama a boost.

“I think he can help him on foreign issues and policies. I hope he doesn't help him win though,” Chris Sechler said.

And Schlatter says he thinks the Obama-Bidden ticket is a winning one.

“They'll come together and make a strong campaign team for us,” he said.

The Obama campaign has already registered over 4000 new voters this summer. They will continue registering people until October at their new office.
