Police say three people were shot in downtown parking lot

An Augusta teenager is in the hospital after, what investigators are calling a gang related shooting.

Thomas Kirkland, who's 18, is in critical condition at M-C-G Health.

Investigators say Kirkland and two other men were shot in the parking lot of downtown Augusta's Soundtrack Nightclub around 3:30 this morning.

Deputies say three suspects led them on a high speed chase in a stolen car before crashing near Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Olive Road.

They were arrested and charged.

Investigators say the shooting took place in the same parking lot where a Richmond County deputy was shot in December of last year.
