Early morning accident causes fuel spill in North Augusta

By NBC Augusta Staff

Aiken County emergency workers are finished cleaning up an early morning oil spill.

Two semi tankers collided around 2 a.m., causing 100 gallons of diesel fuel to spill onto the streets.

It happened on Edgefield Road in North Augusta.

Officials were able to contain some of that fuel with sandbags to prevent the oil from going into the drain. No one was hurt in that accident. The clean-up took about seven hours to complete.
