Apparatus Pilates is an exercising technique that strengthens the mind and body. A Pilates instructor at MCGHealth teaches a class to help keep people fit.
The exercise is a workout performed on equipment that allows you to use your extremities in their full range of motion, while your torso is stabilized by your core muscles.
It dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs.
It builds strength without excess bulk and It creates a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat stomach.
This concept is a fundamental workout for the entire body.
Apparatus Pilates also does wonders for golfers.
Tiger Woods has been quoted saying, "One of the most sacred fundamentals for a good golf swing is your posture."
Along with long lean muscles, Apparatus Pilates strengthens your postural muscles to bring your posture back to where your spine wants to be naturally.
There are specific exercises that help in golf; such as the opening of the hips, rotation of the spine, and stretch of the calves.
