Augusta leaders say sale of methane gas paying off

By Tina Terry tterry@nbcaugusta.com

The decision to sell the methane gas produced at Augusta's landfill is paying off.

City leaders say the venture will raise $1.5 million this year.

Tuesday, Augusta commissioners hired a Colorado company to study what to do with the gas that isn't used. One idea is to use the methane to fuel city buses.

I wish all transportation can be converted to methane burning engines sooner rather than later.. Good going Augusta!
