Two young ladies celebrated a major milestone Tuesday.

Evelyn Mosley and Ada Ableman celebrated their 100th birthdays at the Place at Dean's Bridge nursing home.

Both were born September 1st 1908.

Mosley says out of all her accomplishments, she's most proud of the family she raised.

She says she lives every day putting forth her best effort.

“Just do the best you can,” says Mosley. “It's all you can do.”

Mosley has more than 20 grandchildren and more than 10 great grandchildren.

This is one the greatest people I know. I'm the fifth generation of women in the family to her. She is my great great grandma. She is a wonderful person. My family visits her everyday. We love her.

She is not in a nursing home because her family doesn't care! Don't make un-informed assumptions. She is there because she needs medical care and monitoring. She lived alone until last year and was lonely. She enjoys the company at the nursing home. Her family visits her EVERY DAY. She has not been thrown away or put aside. Maybe you have guilt issues about not caring for your family. Don't make assumptions about others.

One thing not mentioned in this article...the birthday party was sponsored by a local charity...When HELP Can't Wait. They help make nursing homes seem more like "home" by providing the residents with basic creature comforts. Please check them out at www.whenhelpcantwait.com

It is really something what these wonderful women have seen so much in their lifetimes; that is drastically different than the times we live in today. It is absurd to me that a beautiful woman such as Ms. Mosley having more than 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren that she has to reside in a nursing home. This is something! Whatever happend to taking care of your aging family members? Are we becoming a world struck with money and material items that we no longer have TIME to care?
