Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer found in American men and the second leading cause of cancer death. Doctors say early detection increases the strong chance for survival.

The prostate is a small walnut shaped gland found in men. It makes fluid that feeds and transports sperm.

Some of the early signs of Prostate Cancer is trouble urinating, starting and stopping while urinating, a decreased force in urine stream

In advanced stages some men could experience blood in urine or semen, swelling in legs, pain in pelvic area and bone pain.

University Hospital has partnered with Lowe's to offer Free Prostate Screenings.

The Lowe's in North Augusta will have a screening Saturday, September 13th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Lowe's in Evans will start Saturday, September 20th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. And, Lowe's of South Augusta will have their screening Saturday, September 27th at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
