AUGUSTA, Ga. - An Augusta clinic offering affordable heath care to people without health insurance is looking to expand but needs help from the community.

The Christ Community Clinic is raising money to renovate the Widow's Home on Greene Street. The home was donated to the clinic and they plan to turn it into a 12 exam room facility that will include a pediatric suite, offices and classrooms. The clinic is working to share their beliefs while helping those in the community who can't afford basic health care. The clinic hopes to have the expansion complete by late 2009.

“About 72 percent of our patients are uninsured and we see them for as little as $20. We take care of the homeless for free,” said Dr. Robert Campbell, Christ Community Clinic.

The clinic hopes to raise $3 million. You can donate by calling the clinic at (706) 922-0600.
