Atlanta mayor asks for bailout money

WASHINGTON (AP) - Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and two fellow
big-city mayors are asking the federal government to use a portion
of the $700 billion financial bailout to assist struggling cities.

In Atlanta, Franklin says city employees will have their hours and
pay cut by 10 percent each week to help weather a budget shortfall.

Mayor Franklin, and the mayors of Philadelphia and Phoenix asked for the money in a letter to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.
