AUGUSTA, Ga. - It is a race the entire nation is watching - the battle between Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss and Democrat Jim Martin for Georgia's U.S. Senate.

Chambliss, who is the incumbent, and his Democratic challenger Jim Martin both made stops in Augusta Satruday as they traveled around Georgia trying to stir up voter support.

Both men talked about the importance of reviving a lagging economy and answered questions about other topics important to voters like the Iraq War and health care.

They also reinforced the importance of Republicans and Democrats working together to solve the economic crisis.

Voters on both sides stressed the importance of voting and getting involved in the political process after the presidential race.

Buddy Sanders sat in at Martin's rally.

"Come out and vote; the election is not over,” says Sanders. “It is so important that they get involved in the local election because that is the heart beat of decision makings and politics and it also sets the tone for schools."

The runoff race is especially important because it could determine whether Democrats win the 60 seats needed to beat back Republican filibusters. Democrats currently control 58 seats in the U.S. Senate.

The runoff election is set for December 2.

Georgia is going to need Big help from the Obama admin. Martin would be the smart move for Georgia now. It's survival; not politics! You send in the Pitcher that can win for the team (State)! You have to play to win. Labels don't matter. South Carolina made the smart move by getting a Democrat Senator. They will win in the Washington sweepstakes! Georgians have a chance to win big also! Win for Georgia! Send a Democrat to get money from a Democrat. Tough times make for tough choices!
