The police are trained to handle this types of situation. The question is why did they not seek more backup before they opened fire on this young man in plain view of the public. The officer knowing this to be a heavy populated area with children and elderly adults why was more restraint not used. If the victim did show signs of aggression why didn't the officers just fire rounds into the radiator or shot out all the tires.

have you not seen the dozens of cop episodes that when they shoot the tires the car keeps on going. We would have an injured/dead deputy rather than a shot suspect.
