The second season of Augusta's Biggest Loser has entered its eighth week. One of the contestants says her weight is keeping her from becoming a mom.
“The first boy has to be Cole. For a girl, I like Eva Lynn,” said Valerie Thompson.
Valerie Thompson and her husband have been trying to get pregnant since the day they got married. But they failed every time they tried.
My inflow comes or I take a pregnancy test. It's heart wrenching. I've cried a couple times. Every time it's negative, it's another crying session," said Thompson.
About a year ago, Valerie was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. The disease has caused her to gain weight extremely fast, making it impossible for her to conceive.
"I feel bad. I want to make my husband a daddy," said Thompson.
Weight has always been a problem for Valerie. She says she's tried every diet in the book.
"I was called thunder thighs because of my huge legs. Pumpkin head because of my big head," said Thompson.
Now she's putting everything she has into Augusta's Biggest Loser in order to complete the family she longs to have. Valerie says the life changes she is making will be permanent.
"I have to follow PHC Health plan because I don't want my kids to suffer like I did. My husband too; obesity runs on his side of the family. We have to get it right before we have kids," said Thompson.
Valerie has lost nearly 25 pounds. She still needs to lose a few more pounds before she and her husband can start trying to get pregnant.
