School boys trying to trade and sell marijuana change their stories

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - Police in Burnettown are trying to figure out
where two 10-year-old boys found the marijuana they tried to trade
to their South Carolina elementary school classmates for bubble gum
or small pies.

Authorities told the Aiken Standard that 3 grams of marijuana were found on two Jefferson Elementary School fourth-graders after
their classmates told their teachers.

Burnettown Police Chief David Paul Smith says the children have
changed their stories about how they got the drugs several times.

Smith says the students also tried selling the drugs for money.

The boys face charges in Family Court. School officials say the final decision on expulsion is up to an advisory council.
