AIKEN, S.C. - The Aiken County Meals on Wheels program is struggling. The coordinator says you can help. The organization is looking for volunteers to take meals to senior citizens in Aiken County.
Right now several areas including Graniteville, Bath and Langley all have volunteer shortages. That means many homebound people are not able to receive those meals.
“We do have people in these areas who are in desperate need of those meals and while we do need people in Jackson, Wagener, and North Augusta, these seem to be our problem areas,” coordinator Judy Keit said.
Volunteers are asked to donate just one hour of their time to Meals on Wheels. To volunteer call 803-648-5477.
