BEAVERTON, Ore. (NBC NEWS) - The last monkey on the loose after a handful of primates escaped from the Oregon National Primate Research Center was caught on Sunday. Nine monkeys initially escaped Friday afternoon, but staff members were able to quickly get four back into their cages. The Japanese Macaque monkeys escaped while their cages were being cleaned on Friday. Researchers warned the public not to approach the monkeys if they were spotted. They were infected with Herpes and had not been tested for certain other diseases primates may carry that can pose high risks to humans. "It is believed that the animals pose little to no threat to humans because they retreat when they are approached. However an animal that feels threatened could bite," center spokesman Jim Newman said. This is the second time monkeys have escaped from the facility and climbed up to the roof of a nearby apartment complex. The first incident occurred in 2000. I bet one will get free for good eventually, bite someones pet, who will then bite a human...you see where this is going. I think the one getting on the roof is the leader, and is the one that got out before. You'd think a place like that would be out in the boonies...and what 400 "test" monkies!?!? It's like they WANT something bad to happen!!! Inappropriate? Alert Us!

The ONPRC doesn't care for these animals, they are tormentors that anyone would run from if given half a chance. The monkey is not safe now that he has been returned anymore...he is now back in harms way. Where do you think he received the herpes infection from in the first place!
