State seeks death penalty in Grovetown murder

GROVETOWN, Ga.- Prosecutors say a mother and son accused of killing a Grovetown woman should be put to death.

NBC Augusta 26 News has learned the State filed a motion seeking the death penalty against Rebecca Sears and Christopher Bowers on Friday.

Both are charged in the murder of Laverne "Kay'' Parsons. They are accused of beating Parsons with a claw hammer and bat inside her home last month.

Sears and Parson lived next door to each other.

What kind of a mother thinks that spending time with her son killing people is a good thing? One sick son of a gun ill tell ya that. I say bring back the death penalty. It might not stop all crime, but i bet it will make some people think twice about doing something so unthinkable..
