GROVETOWN, Ga. - Too much publicity could delay the trial of a Columbia County mother and son charged with murdering their neighbor.

NBC Augusta 26 News spoke with the attorney for Rebecca Sears, who along with her son Christopher Bowers, is accused of beating Kay Parsons to death.

Attorney Jacque Hawk tells 26 News the information that people are getting is one sided and it creates a prejudice with potential jurors.

Hawk says he won't know if the trial will be delayed or moved to a different area until the jurors are interviewed regarding the case.
