AIKEN COUNTY, SC - A Wagener man is dead after his truck slammed into a tree in Aiken County.

Crews pronounced Stanley Jones dead at the scene about 6:15 Thursday evening.

It happened on Highway 39 between Family Circle Road and Daytona Drive. Deputies say Jones lost control of his truck and rain might have been a factor.

He was not wearing a seatbelt. This is Aiken County's 13th deadly wreck this year.
