Aiken woman accused of hiring a man to kill her husband and his son

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman is accused of hiring a
man to murder her estranged husband and his son in their North
Carolina home.

U.S. Attorney Walt Wilkins says 42-year-old Judy Dickson of Salley was arrested Tuesday and accused of paying a man $10,000 to
burn down a house in Shallotte, N.C., while Raymon Dickson and his
son, Ryan Dickson, slept inside.

Authorities say Dickson told the man she wanted to collect her
husband's life insurance, which she said would be double if his
death looked like an accident.

Wilkins says the man told Dickson he would burn down the house
but alerted authorities instead.

Dickson, who has not posted her $250,000 bond, is scheduled to
have a preliminary hearing next week. Her attorney didn't respond
to an e-mail seeking comment.
