Claflin University's CSRA alumni plan to raffle $10,000

AUGUSTA, Ga.- To help raise scholarship funds, an alumni group is selling raffle tickets.

The CSRA Alumni of Claflin University are planning a raffle to raise $10,000 for the university's scholarship program and to award someone in the CSRA.

“It’s about the students being able to get an education, that’s what it’s really about, and when you look at that, it’s about the students and it’s about the school,” said Claflin alumni Willie Frazier.

The tickets will be picked one at a time and the last ticket chosen will be the winner of $10,000.

There are only 300 tickets available.

Each ticket costs $100 and includes dinner for two as well as entertainment.

The winner will be chosen on July 17th at the Augusta Community Center in North Augusta.

On top of the grand prize, there will be a “lucky loser prize” of $499.

There will also be a prize of $25 awarded to every 25th person after the 100th ticket is drawn.
